Just Stuff...

Thanks everyone for your emails, phone calls and prayers following the passing of Gene's sister, Lucia. We are all, still in shock.

Since I'm tired of crying, I thought I'd post some pictures that make me smile. These were taken at Andy's house, right after Christmas and at Carole's this past Sunday. The rocking horse was our gift to Brody and Hadley. The headdress that Hadley is wearing, was fashioned by "Pop Gene" from pheasant feathers. The fact that the hairband is pink, makes it perfect for Hadley.

Then the 2 big girls are Maddy and Kate, Carole's girls. And then there's Pop Gene wrestling with Sofe on the floor and Brody apparently performing some form of Asian back massage.

More snow forecast for tonight and tomorrow. I still don't know when I'm headed to Independence, or what I'm going to do with the dogs. Critters are wonderful, but they certainly require more planning.

All of us old folks enjoying our beautiful view from the dining room.

Our Christmas tree made it feel a little bit more like home.

Waking up or going to bed with this beautiful sunrise/sunset view is not a bad way to live.

This may be what I look like when I get out of here.

Snow Day!

The big storm left over a foot of snow. Certainly not Donner Summit stuff, but pretty big time for this part of the country. So much for global warming... The sun is shining and it's beautiful! Gene has been out most of the morning on the little tractor, plowing the canyon roads and people's driveways. I just came in from driving the hoopty over to the horses and it was a real thrill ride! The wind has drifted snow back into the roads, so you just go fast and blast through the drifts! Birdie was having a hard time staying on the passenger seat, we were bouncing and fishtailing around so much. Woo-hoo!

By the way, the temperature is finally up to 11 degrees. That does not include the wind chill, which probably has it below zero. Doesn't matter, it's still beautiful! I hope it sticks around so we have a white Christmas...
